The thing about the millennial generation is that they are always looking for something new and interesting to take their minds off the problems they face—inadequate capacity to buy their own homes and a career that might be spiraling down. They destress through Tampa nightlife, through experiencing new things, and through hanging out with their friends in different places each time.

As a business owner, you want them to keep coming back to your nightclub or bar. You want their power to influence their friends and their network to check out your bars, too. But before this generation does that for your business, you have to impress them first and impressing these millennials are not as easy as it sounds.

Value for their money

Do not be fooled by studies that showed millennials have a spending power of about $200 million annually. Yes, they do, but that does not mean they will spend that money with no control. They want value for their money and they want to receive excellent service and products while they are at it.

If you want them to try your place, don’t simply charge exorbitantly. They will make you work for it. They will pay the bills, but you have to give this generation what it wants—an experience they won’t forget.

Authenticity

Whatever message you want to convey about your brand has to be true and real to what the business really is. Millennials hate being lied to.

They grew up with a lot of access to information and they have gobbled up this information like crazy. They know if they are being hoodwinked and they prefer only to align themselves with companies that value what they do.

Quality

You cannot hard sell your nightclub to these millennials. They don’t want to be sold to because they prefer to make their own choices.

What matters to them is not what your marketing campaigns say. What matter to them are the social opinions about your business—what do the influencers think about your business? Are celebrities checking out your place? Who are going and how can they benefit from your “market”?

Connection

Millennials are digitally connected 24/7. Forget about attracting this generation if you cannot at least provide free WiFi. Yes, even in the middle of the nightclub, millennials will go live on Facebook or Instagram or post photos of their dancing.

Nothing can stop them from going online. If you have a bad reception service in your place of business, you will have to move heaven and earth for a good signal.
