If you’re in Tampa for a short vacation and you want to experience Tampa nightlife, you’re in for a treat. Tampa is a great place to unwind and there are plenty of activities here that anyone can enjoy—from our grandparents to the kids. It’s a family-friendly city that boasts of stunning coastlines, comfortable weather, and a cheaper cost of living compared to its neighbor. Having fun in Tampa does not always have to be expensive, especially if you want to hit the bars and nightclubs.

Take note of your hotel’s name and address

This is common sense, right? But common sense isn’t that common when we’re on our tenth shot of tequila. Just in case your forget where you’re staying (and you think you’re back home), save your hotel’s name and address in your phone, so you can have access to it anytime you need the information. Once you call a cab to take you back to the hotel, just show the address and off you go.

Leave a message at the receptionist about your whereabouts

To be on the safe side, tell your receptionist where you plan to spend the night. Most receptionists, of course, are willing to take note of this information. It will be helpful when something goes wrong or you suddenly went missing. It rarely happens, of course, that a tourist suddenly goes missing without any reason, but in rare cases, any information would help in finding you or seeking you out if your family needs to contact you while you’re out partying.

Tell a friend where you’re going

At the same time, tell a friend where you plan to go. It will make you feel better knowing that someone has the information where to find you if anything bad happens. Besides, your friends or your family would want to know if you’re going out in a foreign place.

Don’t leave your drinks and don’t go anywhere secluded with strangers

It’s the cardinal rule of clubbing: don’t leave your drinks unattended. How many stories have we heard about drinks getting spiked and the person who owns that drink finding himself helpless by the end of the night? Too many for you not to remember never to trust anyone with your drink. Not even your friend.

Why? Because your so-called friend could forget about guarding your drink and leave it somewhere and not have the gall to tell you that he/she left it for a few seconds. That being said, even if you feel that you made a connection with a total stranger in a bar or a club, do not leave the place with him/her and go somewhere you cannot get help immediately.
