Bars and pubs are not really for babies and children. Our children don’t exactly have a Tampa nightlife where they drink and dance their worries away. But if you’re new parents, you know all about the stress of family life and sometimes, you just want to go out and drink and dance and hang out with your friends. So, how do you reconcile the fact that you’re a new parent who needs a drink but can’t leave the baby at home?

Look, it may look and feel impossible and not to mention downright wrong, but there are tips that a business could follow to turn their nightlife businesses into family-oriented and baby-friendly ones.

Prefer soft music

The reason why we can take kids to a fine dine-in restaurant or a fastfood and not to a nightclub is because of the loud music. They can be put to sleep when in a restaurant, but not in a bar or a club where the speakers are blaring Drake’s latest song, right?

If you want to be a family-friendly bar, better ditch the loud music and settle for some soft jazz. You don’t need to play children’s songs, mind you. You can just bring in a band that plays jazz or pop or R&B and your children should be fine.

Create a kid’s menu

Your menu should be kid-friendly, of course. Nothing much here except putting in the children’s staple food such as fried chicken, spaghetti, carbonara, mac and cheese, mozzarella sticks, sausages, pancakes, and some sweets like cupcakes and ice cream. Your customers (the parents) must not be forced to go out to another restaurant and look for something their children can eat. They must feel safe knowing they could choose from the menu that you’re offering.

Build a corner/room with babysitters

This is an important feature of any bar or club that wants to invite guests to bring their guests over. While the parents are sipping cocktail and listening to music, they should be able to leave their children in a playroom. That playroom should be sound-proofed and it should be secured with security cameras.

You should hire trustworthy nannies and babysitters to watch the kids. Of course, there will be an extra charge for this service, and you should ensure that the children are secured by making the nannies sign a contract and focusing the cameras straight on the room.
