Not everyone is for Tampa nightlife. Some of us don’t like the buzz of bars and clubs. But hey, it’s a good activity to meet new people… people who could actually be your significant other in the future. We’re not saying this is the only way to meet your future partner, but there’s no harm in trying, right?

Sure, bars and clubs may not be your thing because of the loud music, but not all bars and clubs are like that. There are jazz bars that have a soulful ambiance. You can hang out there and enjoy the music with a complete stranger and maybe before the night ends, you’ve hit it up pretty well.

Okay, remember: Never go with a stranger in isolated places. If you do manage to hit it off with someone, try and meet him/her in the morning when there are people around you. Try to get to know him/her first before anything else.

Be open to meeting new friends

Your social life needs boosting? You’re probably spending so much time indoors. You’re probably stuck behind your desk, signing papers after papers. You’re probably hanging out with the same old group of friends you had way, way back. It’s nice to have a job that you’re proud of. It’s nice to have friends that you grew up with. But admit it, there are times when we feel we are too boxed in, that the activities are monotonous and routine. We want something new—a new perspective from a new friend, maybe?

The first step towards having a better social life than you have now is to be open to meeting strangers. You don’t have to date them. You just have to strike up a conversation and see the world from an entirely fresh perspective. It will do you a whole lot of good to have an actual adult conversation with someone not from your inner circle. It doesn’t have to be a complete stranger. You can strike up a convo with someone who works in a different department, and that would be okay, too.

Be cautious about giving personal information

Okay, this is where you draw the line. When someone you have just met suddenly wants personal information from you, that should trigger an alert in your brain. Don’t be too drunk that you end up giving your personal details freely. There are a lot of unscrupulous people out there who can use your details to hack credit cards and make a fraudulent transaction. Remember to keep your wits with you even when you’re out enjoying yourself.
