The thing about Tampa nightlife is that it can be rowdy sometimes because there are many tourists visiting Tampa. The hodgepodge of culture and the mix of traditions can become overwhelming for people who are going to experience it for the first time. But let’s get this straight: there’s nothing more enjoyable than a nightlife here. It’s fun. It’s exciting. It’s an adventure unto itself.

But if this is your first time, you may have to take note of a couple or more things. All of these will help ensure you’ll have an enjoyable night out of town and that you’ll be safely home come midnight or the wee hours of the morning. Here are some of the things you need to do and bring:

Tell a trusted friend/relative where you are

We’re sure you’re independent and you think you can take care of yourself, but there’s nothing wrong with telling someone where to find you just in case something happens that you are not ready for. You can tell your parents or if that’s a bit too much for you, tell a friend, a neighbor, a co-worker. You don’t even have to tell them why you’re telling them where you’ll be that night. Just simply mention that you’re going to blow off some steam in a particular Tampa bar.

Bring your mobile phone with you

Some may tell you not to bring your mobile phone with you because you may lose it in the process of having fun, but it’s your safety net. Your mobile phone is your safety measure, making sure that you can be reached at all times wherever you might be and whatever time it might be. In case an accident happens or something that would require you to ask for help, wouldn’t you feel better knowing you have your phone with you and you can call help anytime?

Never trust a stranger

Even if he’s the most charming fellow on earth, never trust him or leave your drink with him. In fact, when you’re in a bar, don’t even trust your friends to watch your drink while you go to the loo. There’s a good chance that friend may be distracted and forget that he has to watch your drink. A simple potion could knock you out and bring disaster to an otherwise fun evening.

Know where the fire exit is

This is the first thing you should look for when you enter a building. Find the fire exit. Make a mental note of it. If a fire breaks down (but hopefully nothing like this ever happens), you will be ready to find your way out of the building. You’ll find it easier to calm down amid the panicked people if you know where the exits are.
