cluelessLakeland shopping with kids can be quite a nightmare for mothers. Imagine having to tag along your three-year-old to the mall. Yes, he/she may enjoy it at the beginning, but we have no doubt he/she will easily get bored with the process and throw some temper tantrums (unless he/she is really well trained by you then, if that’s the case, kudos).

Thankfully, there are things you can do and avoid to ensure that you and your children will have an enjoyable time at the mall. You don’t really have to leave the kids at home to enjoy shopping in the malls. You can simply follow these tips and have the time of your life.

Know your children’s limits

They’re your children, after all, so you must know when they are bored, hungry, or tired. If you noticed that they aren’t as excited as when you first started out, then it’s probably best to talk to them and ask them what they want to do. Are they hungry? Do they want to grab some snacks? Don’t just assume with kids and remember they have wants and needs, too.

Help them in their curiosity

Children are naturally curious, which means they are bound to hold items they are not supposed to and they may not know they should be careful with them. If they want to examine something that might get broken, don’t tell them to just keep their hands off it. Instead, hold it for them and explain why they should be careful with the item.

Avoid the crowds

You will never be comfortable when your children are with you in the mall and there’s a huge crowd there. Can you shop with one hand? Because we doubt very much you will be able to let go of your kid when there are people piling around the mall. Shop in the morning or late evening, so you don’t have to fight through the crowd. That being said, don’t drag your kids along when there’s a huge sale in the malls.

Feed your kids first

Before going to the mall, make sure you have fed your kids already. If you are shopping with an infant, this is especially important to note. Since they can’t very well say they’re hungry and want food, they’ll simply cry and you will have to quickly fix him/her a bottle to stop him/her from bawling his/her lungs out. Always be ready for these circumstances by feeding them before leaving home.
