A Tampa nightlife is always an amazing time. You’re surrounded by your closest friends, drinking cheap beer, hitting up the local clubs and bars, and basically making the most out of your youth. However, there will come a time when you realize that maybe the nightlife scene is something that isn’t for you.

Hitting up local bars and clubs in your early twenties with your closest friends is great, but when you reach the point where it looks like everyone is young enough to be your kid, then maybe it might be time to evaluate things.

If you’re at that point in your life where you’re not exactly sure yet if you should give up the Tampa nightlife scene or not, here are some signs that may indicate that the nightlife is no longer for you.

The door guys don’t have to ID you

Door guys at clubs know what to look out for when they check ID from club patrons, and they know exactly when they don’t need to check ID anymore.

If you fall into the latter category because of the crow’s feel around your eyes and the graying hair, then you may be a little too old for the nightclub scene now.

You find the music irritating and too loud

While nobody exactly goes to clubs and bars for the music, if you’re at the height of your nightlife career, you tend to find the music exciting. But if you enter the club, and you realize that you find the music grating on your ears, then this may be a major sign that you may be getting too old for the nightlife scene.

You get bonus points if you find yourself wanting to just talk with your companion, and are irritated that this is a nearly Herculean feat because of the loud music.

You’ve seen this same club undergo a minimum of three changes

Clubs don’t really stay the same for a long period of time. They may undergo new management or a rebranding. Either way, if you find yourself at the same club, and you realize that you’ve seen this same club undergo at least three major changes, then you might have been in the club scene for a little too long.

You get bonus points if you find yourself reminiscing about how much better the old management/look/brand was compared to the version that you’re sitting in now.

When you’re out on the dancefloor, you feel like you’re surrounded by children

So you’re getting a bit disheartened because you realize that you might be getting old, so you head on over to the dance floor.

To your dismay, being out on the dance floor makes you feel like you’re surrounded by children. If you experience this, then it is a definite sign that you may be too old for the Tampa nightlife scene.
