That means that retailers won’t allow their consumers to get more than what they are willing to sell for a profit. However, that doesn’t always mean consumers can’t get what they want at a price they are willing to pay for. Although it’s close to impossible to take advantage of a retail company, there are ways that will allow consumers to get more than what they can normally afford.

Buy in large quantities

If you buy a single piece of item on sale, you might feel the “discount,” but not as much as buying them in large quantities. If you don’t need all of the same items, you can ask a friend or a family member to go with you. Maybe they would also want the same product? This means you can enjoy a higher discount.

Don’t buy items in season

Items in season are never put on sale, except for special circumstances. If there is an ongoing sale in a mall near you, buy items that are last season’s or winter clothes if it’s a summer sale or summer clothes if it’s a winter sale. These items will mostly be on sale because they will no longer be available in the coming season. If you want to buy a new bikini, the best time to do so would be a fall or winter sale. No one’s buying a bathing suit during the colder months, so they are most likely on sale.

Keep it cool

Impulsive buying is the boon of every shopper’s existence. If you go with your impulse, you’ll end up buying just about everything you see on the sale rack. When you get home, you’ll mostly mourn at your credit card bill and rue the day you discovered the sale season. Keep it cool, instead. Don’t rush your purchases but think it through. Do you really need it? Do you really want it? Will you be able to use the item for a long time? Or is it just a one-time thing?

Ask about the return policy

Sale season means people are packed inside the stores. This does not give you enough time to fit in the blouses or trousers you want. If you’re sure about your size from that brand, you can just go ahead and buy them. If not, you can buy them anyway, provided you are aware about the return policy. Will you be able to return the items because of the wrong size? If there’s no sale anymore when you return it, will you be able to retain the discount on another item?
