The challenge with deciding to sell preloved items is pricing them. If you price them too high, they will never sell. If you price them too low, you’ve denied yourself profit. Tampa shopping and selling preloved items should not be stressful at all for you. If you do your research and you prepare for selling the items, you’re going to love being able to earn even a small income from your preloved stuff.

Know the current retail price

What items are you going to sell? How much are these going to cost if they will be bought brand new? Take time to browse through a mall or a shop to know the current retail value of the items you are going to sell. Make sure you’re looking at the current design or model because if the products are tweaked or updated, the value could change drastically.

Mark it down

When you buy and use an item, it automatically depreciates in value by at least 50 percent. If they are still fairly new, you can sell it for 50 percent of its original price. The more you use the item, the lower the value it is when sold as preloved. There are exceptions, of course. Designer goods, antique jewelry, and vintage pieces will increase in value over time.

Add a sentimental value

If you have an item that was previously owned by a famous celebrity, that would cost more now. For example, you have an NBA card that was signed by Michael Jordan. You cannot simply sell that for a couple of hundred of dollars. You can actually enter that into an auction and fans would kill for a chance to get their hands on that card. Add an emotional value to the item you are selling.

Check your competition

What price is other people selling the same items for? This is important because it will provide you clues as to what the value of the goods actually are. The true value of something is what other people are willing to pay for it. you have to check out your competition and how they are selling the same items you have in your closet.

Factor in shipping cost

Not charging right for shipping will eat into your profits. You can offer free postage for large orders or you can allow the buyers to choose the courier he/she wants provided that he/she will cover for the expenses.
