Tampa shopping can be relaxing but it can also be quite stressful if, well, you don’t have the money for it. Thankfully, in many stores such as a flea market, a farmer’s market, or a weekend market, there are stalls that are willing to bargain with you. Don’t try haggling when you’re buying from a mall. Mall prices are not to be bargained with. These are set in stone, so better just wait for the sale season if you want to buy something from the malls.

Be fair and reasonable

Some customers are just unreasonable when it comes to haggling. They cut the price by almost 50 percent. How much do you think sellers should make? A penny? Be reasonable when asking for a discount. Try to ask yourself this question: if I am the one selling this or if I am the one who made this item, how much do I want to earn from it? Consider some factors, too, such as the materials used for the product and the amount of time spend laboring for it.

Remember that when you see a shirt being sold, that’s not just a shirt. There’s someone who cut the pattern. There’s someone who designed it and who sew it all together. People are being paid to make that shirt, so that should be taken into consideration.

Just be fair when you try to haggle, so that you won’t annoy the seller.

Offer the price you are willing to pay

There are some customers who haggle to no end only to decide otherwise when the right price has finally been reached. What was the point of you negotiating in the first place? Why did you ask for a discount if you are not going to buy anyway? You should be a little flexible on the price you are willing to pay. You can go a couple of dollars higher than the original price you offered, and that will still be okay. The point is, the seller tried to meet you halfway and you should probably consider the price he/she is offering.

Do not attempt to haggle if you have second thoughts about buying the product. At the end of your negotiations, you may just decide to change your mind and that’s annoying for the seller. Do not waste his/her time if you are still not sure about buying the item/s. That will just make you an annoying customer.
