How cruel can the world be that we cannot just eat a whole cheesecake without getting fat? If you’re on a diet these days, you know how hard it is to enter Tampa restaurants and not order all those yummy desserts you’re seeing in the menu. Cruel life, indeed. Fortunately, there are some tricks and tips you can follow to enjoy a few sweets while trying to maintain that waistline and not going overboard with your calorie intake.

Look for flourless and sugarless cakes

You know what we’re talking about. Yes, there is such a thing as flourless and sugarless and eggless cakes. It sounds dubious and they make you feel all icky insides. Like, why would we remove flour or sugar in cakes? What is the point of having desserts without the sugar?

Okay, hold it up a minute. Such creations allow you to enjoy a bite or two of a cake or pastry without needing to kill yourself in the gym the next day. There are actually some really good flourless and sugarless cakes in restaurants and cafes.

Pastry chefs have become very creative with their desserts. And why not? We’re constantly being forced to look good for health and social media reasons, so they better whip something up that won’t add to our weight.

Prefer fresh fruits

What travesty it is for you to eat fresh fruits when you simply want to satisfy your sweet tooth, right? But look at the bright side. Eating fresh fruit gives your body the nutrients that it needs and it also provides a way for your sweet cravings to be satisfied.

If you want to really indulge, then select sweet fruits such as peaches, mangoes, and berries. You might not be able to sate your taste buds with the sugar-based sweets that it craves for, but maybe a healthy form of “sweets” is enough.

Choose oats, wheat, nuts, yogurt

You can have your sweets, sure, but make sure that they are made of oats, wheat, nuts, or yogurt. Want to have ice cream? How about a cup of frozen yogurt instead? You can mix your yogurt with nuts and fruits to make them more dessert-y.

You can even have a healthy version of a French Toast, though make sure it’s made of wheat bread and no sugar is added in the egg mixture. You should probably eat it with a little bit of honey and that’s it, you’ve got yourself a dessert.
