There are a lot of factors that contribute to the success of a Tampa nightlife. Whether you spent weeks planning a night out with friends or if it was a decision made in half an hour, we always want to the night to end up great.

However, a large part of determining if a night out becomes a success or not depends on how you handle the night. If you know how to prepare for it accordingly, it can be one of the greatest nights of your life.

But if you come unprepared, you might find yourself hating it. In order to help you out, here are some simple do’s and don’ts that can help guarantee that you enjoy your Tampa nightlife and turn it into a night you’ll always remember.

Do’s

Wear comfortable clothing

If you know that you’re going to be going out for the night and you’re not entirely sure where the night is going to take you, always, always wear comfortable clothing, no matter how awesome you look in that dress or those shoes.

It might seem like a good idea at 8 in the evening, but when it’s 2 in the morning and you’re trying to flag down a cab and your feet are threatening to stage a mutiny because of the pain, you should think twice.

Bring cash. No cards.

You’re not exactly a rocket genius when you’re drinking, and any concept of financial responsibility often flies out the window when a few drinks are involved.

It’s a lot easier to hand over your credit card and buy a few rounds for the entire bar when you’ve had a few drinks, and while it sounds like a great way to make friends at the bar, you’re going to hate yourself the next day when you see you account balance. Stick to cash.

Drink plenty of water

Always drink a glass of water in between drinks, as this is the best way to prevent a hangover the next day. You’ll be running to the bathroom a lot, but it’s a lot better than waking up the next morning with your brain threatening to tap-dance its way out of your skull.

Don’ts

Drink and drive

Never, ever drink and drive, even if you think you can make it. It’s irresponsible, and not only are you endangering your own life, but you’re also risking the lives of the people in your car, as well any bystanders you might accidentally hurt in your inebriated state. Share an Uber or take a cab, whatever you do, never drink and drive.

Drink on an empty stomach

If you’re on a diet, it might seem like a good idea to save all of your calories for all the drinks you’re going to have later.

This is an excellent way of getting drunk as fast as possible, which is the last thing you want if you’re looking to enjoy your Tampa nightlife out. Drink plenty of water and eat a well-balanced meal before going out so that you can remain lucid while drinking with your friends.
