Are We Harming Our Kids By Ordering From Tampa Restaurants’ Kids’ Menu?
Mac and cheese, chicken fingers, grilled cheese sandwich, plain hamburgers, French fries, and hotdogs… these are the staple items you can find in a kids’ menu in Tampa restaurants. The sad reality for parents (and even kids) is that chefs don’t care enough to create a different offering of kiddie meals.
They don’t care that they have truffle oil in their kitchens. They would insist on serving our kids the same things we can find in a fastfood chain like McDonald’s. They don’t care if they have a heap of broccoli there. They can’t be bothered enough to include a few into the mac and cheese to make it a healthier version of what we serve them at home.
Admit it, if you have been with kids in restaurants, you know what we’re talking about. How many times have we deciphered that the mac and cheese we paid $10 for is actually just something that came out of a Kraft packaging?
