Summer is here, and with this season comes a huge wave of events and parties happening all around the area. It always seems like summer is the best season for events, especially outdoor ones. This is probably because the summer heat gives people an excuse to cool off in the most creative ways possible, whether it’s at a beach luau, or a block party.

Summer is a great time to hold an event, because it’s a time that plenty of people associate with fun and relaxation, ever since we were kids. So if you’re looking to host an outdoors summer event, look no further! Here are some great ideas you can use when hosting a summer event.

Pool party

A pool party is an instant summer classic. Pool parties are great for a fun, casual way to have friends and other members of the local community to come over and cool off. The great thing about pool parties is that they don’t require excessive planning, all you need is pool, some food, and people to invite. You can play pool games like Marco Polo or water fights, or any kind of pool game you can think of. If you really want to spice things up, you can make your pool party themed, such as a luau or a Moroccan.

Beach party

This is perfect for a more large scale event that cannot be handled by the limited capacity of a pool. Beach parties can be planned for a bigger event that includes entire families. There’s no better way to feel the summer season than by spending it at the beach, after all.

There are lots of great things to do at a beach party, and you can always bring out everybody’s more competitive side by hosting tournaments. Events like beach volleyball, and a surfing competition are just a couple of ways that you can bring everybody closer by having fun, while having a little friendly competition on the side. Don’t forget the sunscreen!

BBQ

Who doesn’t love the sound and smell of sizzling barbeque? Hosting a barbecue is a fun way to get to connect with others through a shared interest: food! Typically found as a community event, there’s nothing quite like the sound of the barbecue hitting the grill, the laughter of the children as they run together, and the adults sitting around, enjoying a burger and drink, and chatting the day away until the sun sets.
