Going to the mall isn’t as safe as it was before. How many times have there been reports about mugging and robbery in malls? How many times have you felt that somebody may be watching your move and trying to get what they can from your bag or your pocket? Times are unsafe now and we must always be on the lookout for ourselves and protect us by doing these following when we’re out Tampa shopping:

Put your bags in front of you

You’re making it much easier for pickpockets to do whatever they want when you’re putting your bags on your back or by your side. Pickpockets are creative now and they use “magic” to get your wallets, cards, phones, etc. When out shopping, make it a point to hold your handbags in front of you, making it harder for pickpockets to dip their hands into your bag.

Don’t wave your phones around

Some of us can’t live without our phones, so that even when we’re in malls, we’re used to waving our phones around and checking out our text messages, our call logs, our social media accounts, etc. while we’re out shopping. While this is fine during regular shopping hours, this could spell trouble if it’s the sale season and there are literally thousands of people in the mall. Try to keep your phones in your pocket or bag, so you won’t misplace them or worse, have them taken away from you.

Keep your wallet in mind

So, you paid the cashier and you put your wallet on top of the counter. There’s a pretty good chance you might forget to put the wallet back in your bag. How many times has that happened to you? All the time, right? There’s a tendency for us to be so focused on the purchase that we forget our belongings. And it is such a drag to go to the lost and found section of a store and realize that no one was honest enough to return your wallet. Though it’s a complete waste of money, what’s more annoying is you have to reapply for all your cards (and pay for them, too).

Put your cards back after use

We have a confession to make. We sometimes just throw our cards inside our bags instead of putting them in our wallets. That makes it easier to reach for it when we need to purchase something again. The problem is, we may unintentionally drop the card to the ground and not notice it. You know that can happen, right? Put your cards back in your wallet, which you are less likely to lose, after each use.
